It’s been awhile since I posted, I took the month of January off and it was a much needed break. I have some exciting news but I’ll wait a bit longer to share that on the blog. In the meantime, I thought I’d share a few images from a recent session with a darling baby girl named Emerson, 6 days old.

This little sweetheart was full of smiles, I like to think it’s cause she was enjoying herself!

…and one of her awake. She didn’t open her eyes much, still so young that she liked to keep them closed, but I thought this one was really sweet.

Happy New Year! I hope all my clients and blog readers had a wonderful Christmas. I have some exciting things planned for 2010 so I hope you’ll stay tuned in to the blog. I thought I’d add some images from my last newborn session of 2009. This little guy was so adorable.

I love that we got some calm awake ones, so precious! This one is definitely my favorite…

and of course you know I love the sleepy ones too…

With big brother… it’s not often easy to get a good sibling image at a newborn session when the siblings are close in age but I think we were successful!

And one more that I really liked…

Sneak peek of some adorable kids - Lethbridge child photographer

Last time I photographed this family, there was only two kids; and the little brother was just a baby! Now he is a big busy 2 year old and he has a beautiful baby sister!

It wasn’t the easiest thing to get a portrait of the 3 children together but I think we did pretty good! Mission accomplished!

Here is a sneak peek of a few individual shots… they are all so cute!

and lastly, a very timely image considering the weather we’ve been having… hope you all are staying warm out there! Brrrrrr!

Sneak peek of Daxen - Lethbridge baby photographer

Photographing Daxen at 8 weeks old made me remember how much I absolutely love that age! When they are cooing, and smiling and just starting to be sociable! I miss that age!

It has taken me longer than usual to get this sneak peek online because like so many others out there, I’ve not been feeling well (darn this cold and flu season!). I am mustering up the little energy I have to get these on to the blog because I know how eager Daxen’s parents are to see them!

Typically I prefer naked sleeping images but I have to admit, this outfit is pretty darn cute on him!

And of course, my favorite, a sleep smile!

It’s a girl! It’s been a while since I have photographed a newborn GIRL so it was fun to work with this beautiful little princess named Sydney. I thought I’d share a quick sneak peek for her parents, I am soooo happy when I can catch a sleep smile… aren’t sleep smiles the best? I think they are a little gift from God for overtired and exhausted parents. Nothing makes it feel more worth it like a perfect smiling baby!

I love it when parents bring little hats or other things that are special to them… this was a special hat we wanted to include…

Sydney definitely knew what she liked and didn’t like and she made it clear to me that she didn’t like sleeping on her tummy… but we did get one quick shot of it.

And this last one just makes me laugh… it’s like she is pondering something. So cute.

It was so much fun to meet this little girl and photograph her, she was very, very busy; she is 3 days younger than my little guy but about 10x faster (which makes me think that I need to do some photos of him again before he is running like her).

I thought I’d share a sneak peek for her mom, I’m sure I’ll have more to share later.

But that’s ok, it only takes a bit of cooperation with this age and the photos are always fabulous. She is just so, so cute!

I love this family - Lethbridge family photography

Since I started my business I have had the pleasure of working with this family 5 times! I first met them when the oldest was just a baby! He was one of the cutest babies I have ever worked with and I just LOVED photographing him! Then I got to work with him several times as a (very) busy toddler when he was hard to get to stay in one place for more than a second at a time, but we always got great images… and now all of a sudden he is 4 YEARS OLD! And so cooperative, and really just an absolute delight to photograph.

Now it is little sister’s turn to be a very busy toddler and I think this first image about sums up our session… center of attention and just not going to make it easy for me.

But that’s okay, I can take whatever a toddler throws at me, and of course with patience and a lot of me acting like a total dork we got some fabulous photos of her.

I swear, these kids have the most beautiful, reflective eyes I have ever seen. I LOVE their eyes! I wish there was some way my husband and I could combine our blue eyes and end up with a brown eyed kid…

This was the hardest objective of the session, a good photo of just the two kids together… I am thrilled that I got this one!

I’ve done several sessions with this family and I really enjoy working with them. Last time I saw the littlest one, she was just a baby. Now she is a walking, talking, funny little girl! She definitely made me work a lot harder than last time I did her photos (she was sitting still back then!) but it was worth it. She is adorable… and of course big sister gets more beautiful every time I see her. She was a delight to photograph, like a little model!

It is truly a compliment to have clients come back to me over the years as their family grows and changes. Here is a sneak peek, I hope to share more later (I know I keep promising that and have a hard time getting back on here and doing it, so the key word is HOPE)!
