Just in case you haven’t heard about it, there is going to be a Belly, Birth & Baby Expo this Saturday (March 20) from 10-5 at the Lethbridge Lodge. Why am I telling you this? Well because I am going to be an exhibitor! I am going to be there all day so I am hoping that lots of my clients and friends (and future client/friends) come visit me!

I am really excited both for my own table as well as for the opportunity to check out all the resources for us moms/mamas to be. There is going to be a kids fashion show as well as a baby wearing fashion show and lots of shopping! Admission is only $1 so you have no excuse not to come!

I was so excited to work with Charlotte, I really wanted to get some girly images with some of my new headbands as well as the cute girly things that Charlotte’s mom brought along…. sigh… it is so much fun to dress little girls up isn’t it?

This is just a sneak peek and I have to say I really struggled trying to decide which images to show… I love them all! She is just too darn cute!

I love these mother and daughter portraits, I am sure they will both treasure these in the future. I know that sometimes the last thing moms feel like when they are postpartum is being in portraits, but I think it is so worth the effort it takes to get dressed and ready because you will never have this time back again, and one day you will look back and think how glad you are to have photos like these. I have one like this of me and Parker when he was a newborn and it is truly one of my favorite images ever (thanks Danna!).

I am loving this one in color, this is one of my new favs! Charlotte was 5wks old when I took these, and I love how she has the chub that you don’t see yet on really new newborns. She slept so well for being so old, I was thinking we would be doing all awake photos but nope, she was a great little napper!

and of course I have to show an awake one… we wanted her to wear a cute knit hat that matched the pink but she was done being dressed up, happy to just be swaddled.

It’s been awhile since I posted, I took the month of January off and it was a much needed break. I have some exciting news but I’ll wait a bit longer to share that on the blog. In the meantime, I thought I’d share a few images from a recent session with a darling baby girl named Emerson, 6 days old.

This little sweetheart was full of smiles, I like to think it’s cause she was enjoying herself!

…and one of her awake. She didn’t open her eyes much, still so young that she liked to keep them closed, but I thought this one was really sweet.

Happy New Year! I hope all my clients and blog readers had a wonderful Christmas. I have some exciting things planned for 2010 so I hope you’ll stay tuned in to the blog. I thought I’d add some images from my last newborn session of 2009. This little guy was so adorable.

I love that we got some calm awake ones, so precious! This one is definitely my favorite…

and of course you know I love the sleepy ones too…

With big brother… it’s not often easy to get a good sibling image at a newborn session when the siblings are close in age but I think we were successful!

And one more that I really liked…

Sneak peek of some adorable kids - Lethbridge child photographer

Last time I photographed this family, there was only two kids; and the little brother was just a baby! Now he is a big busy 2 year old and he has a beautiful baby sister!

It wasn’t the easiest thing to get a portrait of the 3 children together but I think we did pretty good! Mission accomplished!

and lastly, a very timely image considering the weather we’ve been having… hope you all are staying warm out there! Brrrrrr!

Sneak peek of Daxen - Lethbridge baby photographer

Photographing Daxen at 8 weeks old made me remember how much I absolutely love that age! When they are cooing, and smiling and just starting to be sociable! I miss that age!

It has taken me longer than usual to get this sneak peek online because like so many others out there, I’ve not been feeling well (darn this cold and flu season!). I am mustering up the little energy I have to get these on to the blog because I know how eager Daxen’s parents are to see them!

Typically I prefer naked sleeping images but I have to admit, this outfit is pretty darn cute on him!

And of course, my favorite, a sleep smile!

It’s a girl! It’s been a while since I have photographed a newborn GIRL so it was fun to work with this beautiful little princess named Sydney. I thought I’d share a quick sneak peek for her parents, I am soooo happy when I can catch a sleep smile… aren’t sleep smiles the best? I think they are a little gift from God for overtired and exhausted parents. Nothing makes it feel more worth it like a perfect smiling baby!

I love it when parents bring little hats or other things that are special to them… this was a special hat we wanted to include…

Sydney definitely knew what she liked and didn’t like and she made it clear to me that she didn’t like sleeping on her tummy… but we did get one quick shot of it.

And this last one just makes me laugh… it’s like she is pondering something. So cute.

It was so much fun to meet this little girl and photograph her, she was very, very busy; she is 3 days younger than my little guy but about 10x faster (which makes me think that I need to do some photos of him again before he is running like her).

I thought I’d share a sneak peek for her mom, I’m sure I’ll have more to share later.

But that’s ok, it only takes a bit of cooperation with this age and the photos are always fabulous. She is just so, so cute!
